Tomatillo | Husk Cherry - Seeds

Tomatillo | Husk Cherry - Seeds Image

Not to be confused with Cape Gooseberry, Tomatillo is similiar only in the fact that the fruit has it's own paper packageing.
A savoury fruit, as large as a 20c piece generally, it is easy to harvest, easy to keep for up to a month in the refrigerator.
The bush is very hardy and will keep producing for a very long season.
The P.ixocarpa fruit is green and ripeness is judged by feel.
Best picked while still firm but not hard.
We stake the bushes to protect from wind as they can break in severe gales.
Full sun to part shade is tolerated very well by the plant.
Water once per week unless the plant looks like it is suffering.

Very generous supplier of fruit.

Seed is now available only from our new, secure shop at

Degree of difficulty in germination.....3/10 (1 is easy - 10 very difficult) Seasonal - Best in Spring & late Summer.
