Ladies Mantle is often referred to as a shade herb but we have found that it will grow in the open as long as it only gets the morning sun.
It is certainly a ground cover but can easily grow to 50 cm in height in favourable conditions.
Ladies Mantle is a rather neat herb, that is a pleasure in the garden in all seasons.
It will stay well in pots on a balcony or window sill but it does prefer to be slightly moist at all times.
Once established you can propagate by root division in Autumn or allow it to self seed.
The laves are used to impart a slight bitterness to salads or they can be dried to use as a remedy.
